Winter Solstice Celebration

Crowds gather together, children and adult alike, to drum up the sun at
Story Brook Island...

Oh yeah, he was part of the cast for the modern OZ,
but apparently he was too hot for the want-to-be Judy Garland
and so they just had to let him find his own way HOME to me.
Personally I think Jim from the Office is quite similar to the character of my man.

Chug-a-chuga, while I chug eggnog...
{kinda crappy tasting stuff if you ask me, hey the buzz ain't so bad, hee hee...}

Besides, I like Blue Dolphin best, especially to celebrate the

Dear December Reader Giveaway

....and my favorite birds, I've got the December Reader Giveaway here for
Lakota Woman,
{my mom}!

Dear December Reader Giveaway: her own custom made
with Morning Thunder Tea

{Ma, I'll just bring your pair over today okay}

My apologies for waiting so darned long to post the Dear December Reader Giveaway this month !love you all for reading!

Now, I am researching the best way to adopted/rescue two black footed ferrets.
Our family doesn't want to support an inhumane facility that over produces pets:
Learn more here if you care....
{if you have any leads or info you would like to share to help us find our future friends please feel free to tell}
My brothers and I had a little guy when we were kids his name was Bandit'O. We thought we were going to be inventive and original by naming him bandito'... that originality lasted only until we went shopping to get the supplies and found treats called Bandits for him.... by then his name had stuck and suited the little silly who took to sleeping in my sock drawer. My brothers and I were constantly creating mazes and games for Bandito' and I think he was our favorite source of entertainment for after school and weekends, and of coarse he was a fine recipient for our care and love... I really like the willingness he had for play, he was preferable to my hedgehog who's liking for sloth and gluttony bored me too much... the darned prickly punk would sleep all day then run around all night in my room and get into my gym bag to eat my granola that I needed for after cross country practice... I'd reach in for the fortification and a huge hole would be eaten into the bag and all the continence was mushy... yuck!
So, name choices for the our soon to be new additions:

Ginkgo and Biloba
Saffron and Sage
Honey and Clove

We'll see what fits.

The two will be assisting with the display of my jewelry, thick as thieves,
that is if they can resist the urge to hoard it all like ferrets so love to do.

anywhoooo....
I get to start training for a 1/2 and full marathon
that is scheduled for June.
{if all goes well}
Then, if I can manage, I would like to get a full in for my 29th Birthday in August!

I'll keep everyone posted, because I will need every ounce of support to go with the discipline and conviction that it takes to run 13.5 miles and then a whole 26.21875 {facetious} miler!
Best black foot forward, hey:)

Painting Much?

Well I am {going to be after the holidays for sure} and I would like to share with you something that pretty much was a godsend when it came to painting around a certain focal item...
I know, I know,
it has been said not to choose some object or art in which to model the room decor after but I purchased this little Sparrow illustration a year back from the sweet Yumi Yumi shop and fell in love with the array of chromatic watercolor.

To me it was perfect for my little Isabella Sparrow...
and it will be a piece in her new room...
so now to find the right match in colors that will help mesh and not compete with this art,

I would prefer to paint in shades that are sophisticated and fun, you know, appropriate for a little darling {not so cutesie though, as I feel ones surroundings influence us boundlessly} and also I want it to be just right for growing. Since Isi enjoys purple I very much like the dusky amethyst and think the dreamy shade offers the feel of comfort a bit Stella McCartney in femininity, a smidgen of deep woodland security that recalls me of the Legend's forest with a vast vista for creativity....

Add some Orchids and an Anthropologie's Rosette quilt in purple,
and I think it is a base for stellar space!

Now where to get the right paint?

...and since I am sending you all flying around,
I ask that you give this a look,
its well worth it!
A family friend, Bradly J. Boner, has submitted a photo at msnbc,
and its first runner up, you can vote too, to keep it in the vast lead ahead...

its called 'and the Heavens Twinkled'

......aaaannnnnnnnd,
before your next grocery trip try and see if you can watch this,
Even {especially} if you shop at Wal-mart,
as you can make a difference with each dollar....
every item that crosses the check out stand is a vote!
Your saying "I like this and want more".
Cool ha:)

Love and light,

Bully Blends

Local favorite with a cute little tea date.

Upon entering this cozy mom and pop shop, curiously named Bully Blends,
one would be delighted by the array of goodies which they have to offer...

Today I came for tea, Strawberry Kiwi to be exact
yet I have eaten the best deli sandwich's
sipped the most decedent soups
and treated myself to many an indubitably tasty treat
here on occasion...
I've even walked away with a slight buzz a time or two
{we treaded the four blocks back home, mind you}

All this loose leaf!!!!

...and fair trade coffee!

Isi was my company this afternoon,
and she was a perfect lady for our stay...
{different story later in the day, my sugar and spice girl}
The owners are a fine couple who play a very active part in their inviting shop,
Aida {Mrs. Compton to me} was my seventh and eight grade English /Homeroom teacher at
St. Elisabeth Seton. I very much liked her and I'm sure I was an unforgettable for my formidable nature to boot, but that aside,
I've grown from then and am a lady, in public at least,
{wink wink}

As a tip for the tea Isi decided she would pick the reader giveaway,
I will send it on its way to...

A sweet Lady in a far away land,
choose which image you would like to have
and 'convo' me through Etsy after you've made your choice...

I'm happy to be sending you some Bully Blends tea too,
yet I would imagine there is so much fair herbal brew to sip from in Korea!

Thank you all for participating in reading this journal,
{I think I'm done with giveaways for a while, just until I can support my gifting nature}
Love and Light!

Glorious Good Earth

Hey Hey hello to you all!

I'm landing here today to share with you a few very GOOD things and to remind you I am drawing a lucky follower for my Sweet November Giveaway this weekend when I take you all to my favorite herbal brew stop on Saturday.

Now, I found a new tea in which I think any herbal connoisseur will enjoy, tis' called Good Earth, and it is GOOD, I have nearly gone through the whole box of twenty in the last two days, as I drink tea like a fish drinks water, or a tree breaths CO2... and I think these lovely little packets will be going off in anything purchased from my shop, I do declare, along side with a Simple Leaf... oh and Mighty Leaf... gotta' love those silk little lingerie packages these scantly clad tea leafs come in.

When taking tiny toes out to tread and nimble fingers off to the tea shop, one should always be properly attired with both organic gear and an informative read... and so I stitched these '
'Two Dog Night'
fingerless gloves in substitute of all the ones I see in the stores

As the frugal woman I just couldn't bare to purchase something I could make quite-easily-to-my-standards-and-likings...
I find I do this with all my jewelry desires, accessory acclimation's, and fanciful favorites,
oh what an snobbish opportunist I am.

When it is truly frigid out I fit on my stretchy running gloves underneath and they suit just fine, fashionably fine. The read, by the way, is one I find very necessary as I am constantly eager to learn abundantly about my South Dakota and the ethnobotanical offerings to use given by mother earth via God to eat and treat. For example the common Sagebrush {peji'ho'ta ape' blaskaska in Lakota} found scattering these prairies was burned to induce the presence of good influences. And when out camping I've always used it as an alternative to toothpaste with my morning tea to cleanse and rinse, sometimes I crunch it up and wear it as a natural perfume... I like to be as earth conscious as the next environmentalist when ever I can, yet I try not to forgo basic hygiene, wink-wink.

Oh, heavens, this turned into a long journal entry, I best go do something productive now to make up for my chat time, See you in the Wind!
